A 47-year-old cancer survivor is trying to make a statement. He strapped on his rollerblades and is skating around Sloan’s Lake to raise awareness for prostate cancer.
Keith Wegen plans to skate 100 miles around the lake on Monday.
He’s calling on the White House to be lit blue on night during September since it’s Prostate Awareness Month. The White House is often lit pink one night during October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Wegen says the symbolism of a blue-lit White House would lend comfort to those who have lost loved ones to prostate cancer.
There are more than 2.5 million prostate cancer survivors in America.
