Come, listen, learn, speak up and speak out on issues impacting our community
Join us TONIGHT for two important neighborhood meetings at Merritt Memorial United Methodist Church (2246 Irving Street).
St. Dominic Rezoning Meeting (6:00 – 6:45 pm)
The St. Dominic Province is proposing a new priory development on two adjacent lots on 29th Ave and Hazel Court. The proposed priory includes living quarters, kitchen, living room and prayer spaces for the Dominican friars and novices.
Rezoning will be required, in order to relocate the current functions of the priory and novitiate from 29th Ave and Grove St, to allow the already existing uses to the new proposed site.
The Dominican Friars and their architects have been meeting with an executive neighborhood leadership group to share information and open up a dialogue in the development of this project.
The Sloan’s Lake Citizens’ Group, in partnership with the West Highland Neighborhood Association (WHNA), is hosting a neighborhood meeting with the goal of sharing the process thus far and gathering feedback to create a development proposal that compliments and enhances the community. At this meeting we intend to share the current proposal, including information regarding the rezoning purpose and implications, and project vision and goals.
General Meeting – Neighborhood Watch (7:00 – 8:30 pm)
Why Neighborhood Watch? As part of the community, Police District 1 officers play an important role in keeping us safe. However, they cannot be on every corner, so citizen involvement is essential to combat crime. CRO Vasconcellos will guide us in our effort to increase the number of active Neighborhood Watch blocks throughout the SLCG community. For individual crime or safety concerns, please call: CRO Vasconcellos directly at 720 .913.0461
